  7. Transaction Engine is an open systems product for transaction processing. This
  8. software can be installed on a variety of computer systems. It is flexible
  9. enough to handle current and future transaction processing needs. The open
  10. system architecture allows the addition of new functions as required. It
  11. handles all communications for debit card, credit card, and check authorization
  12. processing. Transaction Engine supports offline processing and manual entry of
  13. voice authorization transactions. Offline processing allows the store to
  14. continue to offer EFT services to customers in case the financial network is
  15. unavailable. This results in a greater degree of availability to the customer.
  16. Transaction Engine functions are designed for unattended processing and minimal
  17. operation intervention, providing a fully automatic transaction processing
  18. environment with a minimum resource requirement. All of these features are
  19. supported in both the corporate and in-store versions.
